Join us for September’s Friday Night Flights + Bites featuring our good friend Spencer Tackett on Friday, September 5th from 5-7pm. Spencer will be here pouring a selection of five wines from Skurnik’s portfolio, and Chef Serenity will be whipping up some of her delightful delicacies to pair with the wines. Grab your tickets now!

We’re in for a wine-filled weekend! Right after Friday Night Flights + Bites, at 7pm on Saturday, September 6th, we’re partnering up with The Bookshelf to offer a Book and Wine Club. There’s still time to finish the book. We are reading The Winemaker’s Wife, it’s a great summer read with a complex story of love, betrayal, and impossible courage set in the Champagne region of France. Grab a copy from next door and join fellow book and wine lovers as we discuss the book on Saturday, September 6th, at 7pm.

Keep an eye here in your inbox and on our social media. We’re hosting a Terratorium tasting on Wednesday, September 24th at 6:30pm. Terratorium is debuting a brand new wine, and we’ll be some of the first to taste it! Tickets available soon!

Visit our events page on the website to stay up-to-date with all the latest happenings here at Piazza Discepoli.

Wines

The Old Vine Zinfandel is a tribute to the farmers who maintained these vineyards for many years, even up to a century. It is made from various vineyards in the Sierra Foothills AVA area and produces a refined Zinfandel. This wine is well balanced, with multiple layers and a smooth texture that offers a refreshing taste of blackberry and raspberry flavors, complemented by a sharp acidity and fine-grained tannins. A perfect pairing for anything straight off the grill! Grab a burger and a glass of wine and celebrate the last days of summer with open arms!

Painted Fields is named after the rolling foothills of the Sierra Nevada, especially in the spring when the hills are lush and vibrant with an abundance of wildflowers. “Painted Fields” is an apt name for this picturesque location. The vineyards are predominantly green and gracefully undulate across the landscape. The winemaking team, led by Philippe Melka, envisioned sharing the region’s rich history through a bottle of wine. To bring this vision to life, each of the Painted Fields wines tells the story of the evolution and changes the region has experienced over more than 160 years of grape growing.
