Shop Access Updates
Construction is still active and moving along daily. Please drive safely and patiently through Madeira. We suggest using one of the two entrances located on Miami Ave—access to the Camargo Rd driveway shifts throughout the day.
We are also expecting some building construction to begin next week. We will remain open during our regular hours during this construction, but parking may be more challenging to find than usual, as some parking spaces near our entrance will be blocked off.
If you don’t want to fight with the roadwork and traffic, please call us at 513-561-6956 to discuss delivery options.
Events
Thank you to everyone who came out to support AAZK’s Winos Saving Rhinos event last week. Your generosity helped raise $1,700 for the conservation of rhinos and their natural habitats!
We are smack dab in the middle of summer, and we’re certainly feeling the heat. Haley Johnson from Voyager will be pouring a phenomenal selection of summer wines next Friday. Join us for Friday Night Flights + Bites on August 1st from 5-7pm to kick off your weekend and the last month of summer. If you’re looking for something new to drink on the patio or by the pool, we’ve got you covered.
And speaking of summer, we’re excited to partner with The Bookshelf to offer a Book and Wine Club. We are reading The Winemaker’s Wife; a great summer read, it’s a complex story of love, betrayal and impossible courage set in the champagne growing region of France. Grab a copy from next door and join fellow book and wine lovers as we discuss the book on Saturday, September 6th at 7pm
Visit our events page on the website to stay up-to-date with all the latest happenings here at Piazza Discepoli.
Wines
Nestled in the rolling hills of Italy’s Abruzzo region, Cirelli Montepulciano d’Abruzzo stands as a testament to the harmony between tradition and innovation. This expressive red wine is crafted from Montepulciano grapes, which thrive in the clay-rich soils and temperate climate of Abruzzo. The result is a wine of remarkable depth and character—ruby-hued and redolent of dark cherries, plums, and subtle earthiness. Notes of wild herbs and a gentle hint of spice linger on the palate, thanks to careful fermentation and aging, often in amphorae or neutral vessels that preserve the grape’s purity. Cirelli’s Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is not only a celebration of the region’s viticultural heritage but also a reflection of a holistic approach to farming, as the estate practices organic agriculture and strives for biodiversity among its vineyards, olive groves, and farmland.
At the heart of this ambitious project is winemaker Francesco Cirelli, whose philosophy marries respect for nature with creative experimentation. Eschewing chemicals and embracing traditional methods, Cirelli allows his vines to express the unique terroir of Abruzzo with minimal intervention. His curiosity and commitment to sustainability are evident in every bottle, as he experiments with clay amphorae and natural fermentation, believing that great wine is born from healthy soil and honest labor. Beyond simply making wine, Cirelli fosters a living ecosystem: flocks of geese roam the vineyards, cover crops replenish the earth, and the rhythms of the land shape each vintage. Through Cirelli Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Francesco invites wine lovers to experience a taste of Abruzzo’s landscape, history, and his own passionate stewardship of the vines.

Gourmet Updates
If you haven’t tried Fromager d’Affinois yet, now is a perfect time. This exceptionally creamy cheese is a delightful addition to any board, but it also pairs well with fresh fruit, berries, and a variety of white wine and bubbles (basically, everything we’re already eating and drinking in the heat of summer!) Indulge in the luxurious creaminess of Fromager d’Affinois! Delicately enveloped in a thin, edible rind, this cheese matures gracefully, retaining its gentle buttery and sweet flavors.
As all great cheese does, Fromager d’Affinois begins with high-quality milk. Nestled in the beautiful Rhône-Alpes region, characterized by its diverse landscapes, Fromagerie Guilloteau supports local farmers. They work closely with local breeders, promoting sustainability and animal well-being. Their dedication to responsible sourcing is a guiding principle. They could stop there, but through years of committed research and development, they have perfected an ultrafiltration system that filters the milk through very fine membranes to remove excess water, while retaining nutrients and minerals. This concentrates and distributes all the other components in the milk, including fat, evenly throughout the paste.
